RECREATION DIRECTOR

The Township of Penn is seeking energetic qualified applicants for the full-time position of Recreation Director, responsible for overseeing operations pertaining to parks, open space and recreation to develop and administer recreation programs, services and special events for residents. Other duties include assisting with making application for alternate forms of funding for the overall needs of the Township such as grants and local fundraising. Work is primarily performed during regularly scheduled hours but will involve additional hours as needed. Attendance at some evening meetings and evening and weekend events is required. Applicant must possess a HS diploma or GED; coursework in Parks and Recreation Administration, Public Administration or similar field is preferred; prior experience conducting recreation activities for a community recreation program or experience in a community recreation program; valid PA driver’s license and a safe driving record; and effective written and verbal communication skills. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS LABORER

The Township of Penn is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Public Works Laborer. This position is open until filled. A valid CDL driver’s license for standard shift vehicles with air brake restriction removed is required. Preference will be given to applicants with heavy equipment and construction experience. Applicants must be a resident of the Township of Penn or live within 6 air miles of the Penn Township Public Works Building (3000 Commercial Court, Irwin, Pennsylvania, 15642). Applicants must be available for on-call work on a 24-hour basis and be capable of performing hard, physical labor in adverse weather conditions. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUMMER LABORER

The Township of Penn is accepting applications for seasonal summer employment within the Department of Public Works to complete tasks that can include cutting grass, using powered lawn equipment in all weather conditions and providing general labor (painting, waste collection from park receptacles, e.g.). This temporary, 40-hour a week position lasts for approximately thirteen weeks from May to August. Employees will earn $15.00 per hour with no other benefits. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Applicants must be over the age of 18 and possess a valid driver’s license at the time of application. Preference for applicants who reside within the Township will be given. Applicants must be willing to consent to a criminal background check and be willing to sign a release authorizing access to their driving record.
